About Us

Our special time with music and art provides child-centered, interactive and bonding sessions between child, parent, grandparent or care-giver and teacher. Our special time with music and art provides an atmosphere that nourishes the love for music, movement and visual arts with a purpose to achieve age appropriate objectives or learning targets for early childhood. Our special time with music and art enhances creativity, self confidence, self esteem, social, cognitive, listening skills and motor skills.

Patricia K. Walker

Patricia K. Walker received her BA Degree in Elementary Education with Specialization in Music and her Masters Degree in Music Education from Marshall University. She taught music in Cabell County Schools for 32 years. She received her Permanent Certificate for supervising associate teachers from the WV Department of Education and was adjunct at Marshall University for Music Education 321. She is a member of NAfME, WVMEA and Chairman of the Young People’s Concert.

Nancy Chandler Hazeldine

Nancy Chandler Hazeldine received her BA at Marshall University in Elementary Education with Specialization in Art. “Miss Nancy” taught five years in Wood County, 3 years in Wayne County, substituted nine years for Cabell County Schools and directed many Children’s Church choirs. She is presently a member of the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church Choir and is singing with the group Renaissance.

Kay Fricke

Kay Fricke received her Degree in Art Education, K-12 from Marshall University and taught in Cabell County Schools for 30 years. Among her personal art activities , she sculpted and manufactured dolls for the Regional Doll Club conference held in Huntington, WV. She received first place in the state level competition for a pastel painting of her granddaughter’s pet dachshund, and her realistic painting of a donkey way used as the Palm Sunday altarpiece at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.

Our Staff:

Kaitlyn Fulks (Violin Instructor) 

Kaitlyn Fulks is a Music Education and Violin Performance major at Marshall University. She has been playing violin for thirteen years. She is involved with the Marshall University Symphony Orchestra and plays in multiple chamber groups. Kaitlyn has been a violin instructor for almost four years with students ranging from age 7 to 15.

Rachel Tadlock (Vocal Instructor)

Rachel Tadlock received her BA in music with an emphasis in vocal performance as well as a minor in religion and philosophy from Alderson Broaddus University. Ms. Tadlock has been giving private voice instruction for over four years to a variety of ages. She has served as a member with her University’s praise band, Marching Band, Concert Choir, Opera scenes, as well as Beauty Shop Quartet. She has also performed in numerous productions with Huntington Outdoor Theater and is eager to be back in the classroom!
